Bring the feeling of ancient Italy to your outdoor living space with Fireside Expressions' concrete Milano-style fire and water bowl! With a design flair much like that of the regular Milano fire bowl we offer, this 24 inch accent brings fire and water together in one element. There are so many possibilities for displaying this ornate feature in your landscape. You may choose to incorporate this pool fire bowl into a DIY water fountain, or set it atop a poolside pedestal and create a cascading waterfall from the scupper. Whatever the design, we know you will appreciate this creative concept.
We bet you are asking yourself: How does this fire and water feature work? We're happy to answer that question, and actually, it’s actually pretty simple! The concrete bowl houses a copper "scupper," which is essentially a spout for water departure. The burner and gas components sit above the circulating water, completely protected! To ensure no other worries, our concrete pool fire bowls are hand poured by American craftsmen. Once you choose the shade you want, they incorporate the color into the concrete mixture, which guarantees that you won't have to "touch up" your bowl with paint in the future. It will make a beautiful addition to any outdoor décor!
Remember to pick your favorite fire media! Accentuate your bowl with glittering fire glass or rustic lava rock. Whether your concrete bowl will be used as a decorative planter or a dazzling fire element, we want to help you enhance the look of your feature! Keep in mind that a filler will be needed in the bottom of the bowls (we recommend our propane-friendly lava rock). These fire stones are meant to be an embellishment for the top of your concrete bowl.
We combine a braided flex hose, copper scupper, and a tube of adhesive in our spillway kit. This allows you to run a water line up through the second hole in the bowl, and out through the scupper. No water will be sitting in the bowl, keeping your burner and all fire components water-free.
When creating a fire feature, we've got you covered! Our stainless steel circle burner comes with an installation kit that includes a flex line, nipple, ball valve, flange, and key (all parts are 1/2" in diameter). Your certified gas contractor will have all the components necessary for installation. Your fire bowls will be up and flaming in no time!
Don't let the weather decide when you'll be using your concrete fire bowl. Our Mini-AWEIS (All Weather Electronic Ignition System) makes lighting your fire feature fast and easy. These ignition systems might say "mini", but they deliver big results! They can stay lit even in the rain!
Consider adding a pedestal to show off your fire and water bowl! This 13 inch high decorative pedestal has a 13 inch base and a generous 10 inch top that has been designed to support your 24 inch Milano Concrete Fire and Water Bowl. These pedestals have a hollow center to allow for fuel and water line installation or drainage/irrigation if used as a planter.
Your concrete fire bowl will only be complete when you select your choice of fire media. Fire glass can be used with natural gas burning features ONLY. Fireside Expressions is adamant about this for the safety of our valued customers. Choose from a variety of bold reflective glass colors to accent the shade of your natural gas concrete bowl. When the fire is lit, it will look like it is shimmering on ice!
In order to keep your fire glass above the level of your burner ring and pilot assembly, we recommend placing steel metal lath over your setup. This will keep your fire glass suspended over the assembly and prevent it from falling down into the lava rock. Steel mesh lath can be acquired at your local hardward store and usually comes in 27 inch x 8 inch sheets that can be cut to size. Please on the infographic for an example.
Because propane is heavier than natural gas, it will sink to the bottom of your feature. Small pieces of fire glass will not allow propane to circulate, and this can lead to the explosion of this particular media. Even with larger fire glass pieces, there is still not enough room for the gas to dissipate from wind and other factors. Lava rock allows propane to dissipate and is the safest choice for propane features.

Please check with your local government agency regarding laws and regulations on outdoor fire features. Due to the fact that we custom make every concrete fire bowl, we cannot accept returns based on ordinance code restrictions.
